Counselling & Psychotherapy

Sometimes it is more beneficial to talk to a professional therapist rather than friends or family.

Major life transitions such as the birth of a child, marriage or re-partnering, becoming a step-parent, retirement, illness, or divorce can challenge your sense of self, undermine your confidence and destabilise your relationships.

Past negative experiences, destructive patterns of thinking and insecure attachments with others can hold you back from living a truly fulfilling life.

Sue’s role as a therapist is not to “fix” you, but to help you gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and explore strategies to help you find peace and purpose in your life.

She is trained in a range of evidenced-based therapies so she can tailor treatment according to the unique needs and individuality of each client or couple.

These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally-Focussed Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Sue is a Clinical Member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) which sets standards for training, professional development and ethical practice (www.pacfa.org.au).
